Realizing Cadillac did not keep records of production numbers, what does the Body No. 935 tell me about my 1937 6027?

Bill Young

Without seeing a photo of your tag I would say your car is the 937th. 1937 Model 6027 body built for the year 1937. Is the 6027 a coupe?

cadillac ken

yes, 1937 coupe  Paint #50 (black) and Trim #43 (gray int.)  Style # 37-6027

I figured it meant it was the 935th car of this model, buy I'm just guessing...

Bill Young

Yes Ken that is because the body tag is put on at the Fleetwood Body plant and represents that Body's nomenclature different than the chassis number that represents the Cars place in production sequence at the Clark final assembly plant.

For a 60 series I think Bill means "...the Fisher Plant...", not that that really makes any difference to his main advice.
