Happy 4th of July!!!!
Getting it ready for the interior person to do their thing.
Able to get the surface "stuff" off.
What appears to be left-over adhesive at most edges.
I'm assuming this was to adhere whatever the cover was to the dash.
Here are my Q's for the day:
*What was on the top of the dash? Material? Vinyl????
*How much of the old adhesive needs to be removed for the interior person to get a good bond?
*Because the top will be covered, the reverse side not seen and adhesive most likely will be
used is shooting it with primer and leaving it the way to go?
I'm thinking of working around for posterity sake what appears to be handwritten initials or some kind of assembly code and stenciled numbers by hitting those few areas with a clear coat. Thoughts?
Thanks.

It was covered with a slightly padded, grained vinyl.  The bottom side had a fiberglass insulation pad. I just had my '60 dash redone, and instead of using fiberglass (the original pad was gone), I replaced it with several layers of foil-backed insulation.  The metal was covered with red primer.
