Looking to do a rebuild on the front suspension on my 37 60 seies, have found most of the parts i need, however the company that has the lower control arm bars,is asking if they are threaded or rubber bushed?,these are the pivots that the lower control arms swing on?,they have 4 bolts per side and bolt to the lower crossmember,my question is how do i tell what i have?,I have a MPB,but the numbers are not of any use to them, when i look at the ends i do see a rubber sleeve, but it looks more like a seal then a bushing?.Any one had a similar experience. Thanks Harveyb

John, thanks for the reply, that is what they have, two different types,i need to know how to tell what i have, mine still has the big nut with the grease nipple on the ends?,The car is still in a driving state and dont want to tear it down until i have all the parts. Am leaning towards the original type?,doesnt look to have been changed anytime in the last 75 years.Am going to rebuild the front end and try a set of Diamondback radials and see if it makes any improvement in the handling, old bias plys are no fun on our crappy roads here.Harveyb

Harvey, there is no such thing that I have ever seen as a rubber bushed shaft for the lower control arm for a 37 Cadillac, and there are not two types.  Yours are two metal threaded bushes and the rubber you see is in fact a dust seal.    I personally would be dubious of any supplier who wants to know if you have rubber ones on there, they can't know much!

The ones John linked to are the correct type and are the same for many models and years.   If it helps you they are the same on the small series Buicks and when they are sold as Buick are usually much cheaper that when sold as Cadillac. 8)
