Just replace an old filter that I put on the firewall a few years ago. Had to, because filter elements no longer available.
With new filter, see attachments, the oil pressure occasionally goes to 45-50 psi. Normal is 30+/-.
Wondering if I sized one of the filter lines to small. Did so to reduce oil line(s) vibrations from block.

Bob, from your pictures I can't see where your oil lines are routed to.  However. on the 38 the oil line was routed from the from the oil gallery on the side of the block to the fitting under the intake manifold to feed oil to the hydraulic lifters.  This line was 1/4 inch as the flow requirement for the lifters was not that great.  I don't believe that blocking that line would make much difference to the measured oil pressure.  Instead, you may be having issues with the pressure relief valve in the oil pump.  You would probably have to pull the pan to figure that out.

I agree with Tom, can't see where the feeds attaches but as he said, the pressure reading is from the gallery so nothing you have done can affect that.

Bob, I agree with Tom & Steve that there appears to be a problem with the pressure relief valve in the oil pump. According to the SM that valve should open at 30#, so it is obvious it is not opening as it should. The oil filter you show looks like a fuel filter used on pre spin on diesel trucks and may not be compatible with the thicker motor oil. I would by pass the filter and see if your problem goes away. Of course this would not solve the oil pump situation but would at least pin point a restriction is one exists. Good Luck.    Harry
