Hood ornament ID

My '71 Eldo is missing its hood ornament and I was hoping this one would work, but looks like it won't.  Anyone know what year(s) and model(s) it goes with?  Any way to adapt it to use on my '71?

It's hard to tell from that angle, but the base looks bigger and square, which I would guess is for a late 70's or 80's Cadillac.  There's no good way to adapt it to your car without drilling a bigger hole and fitting a bigger base from a later car, and it won't look good.  Much easier to find a replacement.  72-76 Fleetwood or 72-78 Eldorado will fit.

I didn't realize they had started the hood ornaments in '71 on Eldorados.  i know they weren't available until '72 for the Fleetwoods.

You know, looking more closely at the one you have, I don't think it's a real Cadillac item at all.  The colors are wrong- the red and gold are switched.  I think that's some aftermarket imitation which probably doesn't exactly fit anything.  Sorry.  I hope you didn't pay much for it.
