New to this forum. I've owned several caddys but none for many years. Now I am in the process of bringing a 56 Sedan Deville back from 20 some years of sitting and rotting.
Here's what it looked like when I unloaded it. Plan is to pretty much leave the outside like it is. I have it running good and am in the process of all new brakes.

Welcome!  Looks like a good project?  Not a lot of serious rust apparent.

welcome, I like it. Just curious are you going to clear coat the outside to preserve it or just leave it? Feel free to please post more pics when ever you can, we like pics here.
When a Doctor "saves a Life" it does not necessarily mean that that life will ever be the same as it was, but he still saved it. My 46 may not be as it was but it is still alive.

Not too bad on rust. The typical rear 1/4 from dirt and crap in the trunk is about all. It does have some hail damage which no old car setting outside can avoid in this area. The most obvious is in some of the stainless but the body has a few wonks too. I have no plan to clear coat. I might fix the rusty 1/4 panel when I get to the bottom of her other issues. I have a leaky steering box, water pump and tranny pan. Lots of electrical issues to address like windows, lights, heaters, wipers.
I also have a 1956 Pathfinder canned ham that matches the Caddy, plan is to mate them up. I should have a couple more pics with the painted wheels and wide whites in the next few days. thanks. JB

Hello Willowbilly, Even with the worn paint that is still a beautiful car. What is a 1956 Pathfinder canned ham? I've been in this hobby a long time and never heard of that one. Tom
