Does anyone out there know where I can find a 1948 cadillac "Fleetwood" trunk logo? I have found reproduction ones that all the person selling it needs is a gun! Way, way too much money...and I hope I don't have to pay it. Thank you all, Joe.

Salvage yards for the '40s and '50s are very rare nowadays. McVeys has what you're looking for.

Try checking with Joe Cutler in Massachusetts. This is the era in which he specializes and may have a good used one for you.

Also, keep in mind that the Fleetwood letters on the trunk of a 48 or 49 is in 2 pieces. The "F" is separate from the "leetwood" part. If Joe Cutler doesn't have it, try John Gately in the Boston area or Arizona Vintage Parts.

Another source is Cadillac Parts USA. They have a Fleetwood parts car, not sure if it is a '48 or '49.

Another point is that the Fleetwood letters were the same from 1942 through 1949 on Series 60 Special sedans.

You might try Dennis Akerman in NH (603) 286-3903 or dennis@caddyparts.com.
In the past, I bought rare parts from him for my car
