Im having a tough time getting the convertible top to close.  Is there a way to adjust the latches so it closes easier

Anthony,
Hi. Was a new top installed recently? How old is the top and has this always been a problem? Are you referring to the top not physically coming down close enough to the windshield header? Please be more specific.

If you look at the top frame with the top partially down you should see two bolts on each side of the frame towards the front.  You can loosen these to make an adjustment to move the front bow slightly forward.

However, these adjustments don't really change over time so your top may be shrinking a bit.

Before I replaced the top on my 60 it used to be a bit hard to close.  Sometimes if you put it up but don't latch it right away the material will stretch back out a bit.

Do not force the latches.  You could break something and possible even crack your windshield.

I have been looking for this car for 9 years.  I was lucky to find a beauty and it just delivered this week.  It has a new top.  I left it out in the sun to "stretch" it a bit and it closed ok.  It was cold last night and now its tough to close

One of the things with owning a Convertible is to:-
(1)   Put the top down when the top has been heated by the sun.
(2)   Put the top up BEFORE the sun goes down.
(3)   If you can't do either of these, either leave it up, or down, until the Sun comes out.
(4)   Never put it down if it is wet.
(5)   If you want to do all the above, be willing to replace it often.   The top that is.

If you want to be able to put it up or down whenever you actually want to, then get a hard-top convertible, as these don't care what time of the day, or night it is, or the weather.

The Sun is your best friend.
