The alarm bells start ringing for me when the seller has 0 feedback and gives very little information. Quite how he intends to scam though I don't know as theres no request for a deposit or phone number?

It's a pretty good price, and looks great!  Do we send the money to Dave or the eBay seller?

I have seen these scams before. They get a deposit from the high bidder and notify the other bidders by email that the high bidder backed out and offer it at their highest bid getting a $500 deposit from each of them that are dumb enough to fall for it. They then disappear. Probably multiple scams at the same time.

I took it upon myself to report it to eBay, easy enough to do.  Hopefully they will move quickly enough, not much time left.

You can report it to ebay till your blue in the face, they will do nothing about it. One of our club members about 15 miles from me had his 28 coupe for sale on ebay. It didn't sell but 3 weeks later all the same photos turned up on an ad purporting to have the car in Jersey on the channel islands for a ridiculous buy it now price. It was listed 3 successive times and I reported it to ebay each time and they did nothing.

Steve,
Ebay is useless now. Like everything else, it starts out being the greatest thing since sliced bread, and then turns to S***, once the company gets greedy. Their fees are so ridiculously high now. Try getting them to resolve a dispute. Good Luck……

It's interesting to look further......look at there followers and there info, and who they follow.

A lot of 0 buys or low rating, bad sales.

Get the impression its just more of there own accounts they use or stop using when burn someone.

Or the bad work together.

Did you all notice that in the pictured engine, the firewall as well as the fender are green!

The cars green so that could be just a trick of the light making it look a different shade Tito. Scammers tend to use the originals owners pictures when their trying it on.

Maybe we should all sign on and bid it up to $5 or $10 million and then request to pay in person.

I know this is a serious matter. But that would be hilarious!

I heard that someone  ;) was about to click the button on a $450K bid for this car, but then didn't.

The high and most active bidder looks to be a regular car bidder/buyer as do all but one of the bidders (feedback of 24).  I'm guessing they should be savvy enough to protect themselves without special intervention.  Especially if they are ready to pay $18K for a classic from a zero feedback seller.

Caveat emptor aside, it is amazing that ebay does not address this stuff when notified.  Even craigslist allows users to flag posts.

Although a $10M bid on a classic Cadillac would have made the news!
