Hi guys , on my 53 sedan I've had the steering box rebuilt . While doing this I had to replace one of the high pressure hard lines . Unfortunately it goes nowhere near fitting back in . Now one of the bronze , tube nuts has split . Where to get a new one , I have no idea , and at the moment we are starting the spring car show season .
Have any of you guys replaced the hard metal line for a normal hydraulic line , and had any problems . I don't want to do this but I'm really , over this and want the car back on the road before I take leave of what's left of my sanity .
At the moment , for the last 12 months , I've driven it 3 times and I'm guessing I've spent about $3500 for each time .
Replacing the high pressure pipe is going to take some time . This will be the second time I will miss the 2 car shows that I really want to attend . So a cheap , quick fix is on the cards .
Has anyone done this with a flexible line and had problems .
Cheers Stuart
