A C  fan motor wont stop unless I disconnect the battery ground.  Is this a bad module in the evaporator case??   Runs at high speed W/ ign off.

Yep.  You need a new one.  Same thing happened to me on the way to Nationals in Ohio.

This module is the third one. The first was the original, the second from 2006 to last week.  The heat sink compond seemed dry on the first two, the third cost $35.00 at a scrap yard.  New ones are $250.00 to $275.00.   Would a new coat of heat sink compound extend its life.

4250.00
to $is as old as the original.  Would another coat of coumpond extend the life of the lastest one.

Glen

If the old heat sink compound is dry it is not working.  Yes put fresh compound on.

Where can I buy heat sink compound??    Autozone lists it.   Would that be O K .

As I said before, I am replacing heater control modules with ones just as old as the failed ones, and the supply is rapidly running out.

I ordered a new one from the dealer.  They were still available as of 3 years ago.
