Hi Forum,

I'm researching early vehicles used by the Canadian Army, specifically the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals, and have come across this picture. I believe it is likely an early year Lasalle Phaeton but I don't know more than that. If anyone can identify the year/model based on what they see I'd be very appreciative.

Cheers,

Joe,

This is not a LaSalle.  IMHO, this is a 1929 Chevrolet roadster.  The dip in the top middle of the radiator shell, the shape of the hood, the side louvers, the layout of the body molding all seem to match that car.

I welcome other opinions!

Other than the front bumper (which could have easily been changed on either car), I think Jeff nailed it. I don't know much about either car, so I am just musing as a casual observer.  ;)

Jeff,

Thank you very much Sir! ... and sorry to have assumed it was a LaSalle. My strong suit is obviously not in cars of this era and I find identification a difficult task. I certainly agree that the picture you posted seems to match mine in all areas and I'll continue my research in that direction.

I've found many specialized forum like this one but is there a 'generic' forum for identifying vehicles from the 1910-40 era? I don't like pestering people with things outside their expertise and I only posted here once I genuinely thought it was a LaSalle. It would be nice to have a place to ask these ID type questions.

Cheers and thank-you.

Hello Joe, I would suggest that you check out the discussion forum on the AACA website. ( Antique Automobile Club of America ). www.aaca.org. They are not a single marque club like the Cadillac and Lasalle club. Their area of focus is any car over 25 years old.
