I've been looking for a '72 Coupe DeVille and there is one I might be interested in Purcellville, VA.  Is there anyone near there that might be willing to take a first look for me?

Also, the dash has been chopped: is it hard to find a replacement dash for a '72?  Anyone have an idea?

Thanks.

Gary

I work in Fairfax which isn't close but I might be willing to do that over the weekend.  There is also a pretty sweet 68 coupe deville for sale in Fairfax too if that suits your fancy

Also is this being sold by Champion?  If so avoid them...I've heard horror stories of the stuff they sell

Hi Gary,

If the one in VA doesn't pan out, I have one in the Austin area if you're interested. (pic attached)

Email if you'd like info.

Gary,

What is purpose of purchase, to drive and enjoy or for the 472 driveline/parts?  If it is to drive and enjoy, might be better to look elsewhere:

The least expensive classic Cadillac to own is the best one you can afford.  Dash chopped right of the gate is not a good indicator, and there are so many other nice ones out there.

It's definitely for driving and enjoying, but there aren't a lot of '72 Coupes out there to be honest, especially in a color and option set that I'm looking for.

But yes, I agree about the dash -- it's the thing that has been making me delay.

Gary,

Call Tom he is selling a 472 Coupe in Fairfax VA 703-855-7629.  It has under 50k miles on it, no rust, perfect interior a 1968 CDV, It was at GN 2014 in NY.  You can drive and enjoy, it has the disc brakes and the a/c works.

Yes, this is the dark green Cadillac with perfect matching dark green brocade interior.  It has perfect no bubble original black vinyl top, tilt wheel, cc, and it is an unmolested nice original.  The car looks nice.  The paint is original and I would be budgeting for a re-spray if I bought it.  It is presentable (there was it appears some minor body work on pass side front fender, only noticed from passenger seat, that could have been done better), but to bring it to my standards or win a GN class P22 paint would be required I think.  The car is very good mechanically and everything works, as he is at the working clock face could be nicer stage.

On this car, I replaced the power steering pump hose, heater core, some vacuum hoses and repaired the climate control.  The car runs very well, smooth idle, and nice power.

I own a closed car, any collection needs one - right.  If did not have a closed car, I probably would buy this one.  68 is a great year to me because the dash is nice (not a fan of the 69-73 dashes-and you see it all the time while driving), like the forward cant on front fender at headlights, plus you get the 472.
