I'm working on a frame off restoration of a 1938 series 65 Cadillac.  I was thinking of getting the frame powder coated.  The question is, will I be devaluing it by getting it powder coated or would I be better off painting it as it was originally from the manufacturer?  Thanks for the advice.

I can't imagine it making any difference to value as it will last a lot longer than paint and stays cleaner but it all depends on what you want the car for?     At a normal car show no one would know any different.  At High end Cadillac Judging meets someone might point out its a lot more shinny than the original satin black. As I say, its what you intend for it that counts. If its going to be a driver the powder coating will be dusty in no time and look like all the rest.
