Ok Guys and Gals,  Here is a comedy/romance movie from 1947 with a great cast (Gale Storm aka "My Little Margie", Charles Ruggles, Don Defore, etc., etc.  What's so great about it?  It is a really good movie but the added bonus is the '41 Cadillac town car.   '41 town car you say???? ..... had to be a custom job.  Now, the question becomes this.  There are two different owners of a 41 town car in the movie and of course, we assume they simply borrowed one from a movie exec and used it for both scenes....... or did they?  Watch carefully!  In one of the later scenes the car gets bombarded with tomatos and other vegetables....... sigh!  If you have time, this is worth the watch as it is funny, cute and fun to watch.  Also, note the background art work at the opening when they are running the cast.

BTW for those who watch it, how about posting back on your conclusion re the car.

Whit,

I received no link to the movie?  Perhaps, I am missing something.

I love old classics, especially with the Cadillacs and have never seen this one.  The reviews are great and just ordered it for $5 with Amazon Prime with free 2 day delivery on Sunday.  It will be a good movie to take in this Sunday afternoon.  Here is the Amazon link:

It was on TCM last night, and here is my take on the car(s). There are definitely two interiors shown, as one car uses the current corner lamps, and the other, the previous style used in the 1930s. On the exteriors, they appear the same, but one has a shinier wheel cover than the other.

Several years ago, well before his death, Carl and I were discussing the appearance of two 1941 Town Cars in the Bay area. Both were for sale, and he was trying to get permission to look at the cars. I can't remember the details, but seem to remember that he had said that they were quite similar with only a few items of difference.

He never brought up the subject again, and yesterday was the first happenstance of jogging my memory. But I am sure that he was talking about (two) cars, both of them 1941 Town Cars.

One thing he had mentioned, was that they were on an estate, and the final drive to the building complex was at the end of a long, single lane, asphalt drive.

I may give Ted Raines a call and see if he and Carl had ever discussed these cars while they were a "cause celebre" in their area.

Ted called this morning, and said that he and Carl had never discussed these particular cars. Anyone else in the Bay area that has heard of them, it might be nice to pass the info around. I just wish I could remember a little more of what Carl told me about them.
