In an effort to make the mods less nervous, I'll post a Cadillac question.

What is the one (or two if you can afford it & have the space) Cadillac you would like to own that you don't currently have?

For me, it's a '60.  Probably a coupe, then if not, a convertible.  Sleek styling, toned down a bit from the '59.

That's a mind game that I play at every Grand National that I attend.

I stroll through the parking lot, usually in the evenings, after an adult beverage (or two), inspect the cars and think about which, if any, I would trade my '61 for.

There are so many great choices, but I would narrow it down to three close categories:

1) 1939 or 1940 60 Special
2) 1947 convertible (I love those pontoon fenders)
3) any of the late pre-war or early post-war limousines - 1938 to about 1948.

It can only be a dream, but it's fun, nonetheless.

Several come to mind.  A Copenhagen blue Eldorado Brougham with blue Mojave cloth and white leather interior is one.

The car I have pined for for years:  a black 1962 60 Special, fully loaded with air, Guidematic, power locks, trunk, fog lamps, cruise and a full gray broadcloth interior.  One of the most stately and elegant 60 Specials of all time.

Top of our list is a 57 Eldorado Biarritz convertible in blue w/ a white interior Next would be 1960 Eldorado convertible in Persian Sand To round out the stable a 1934 LaSalle convertible sedan in Claret w/ tan broadcloth YUM

My dad had a 1963 six window sedan.  The 63 is one of my favorite front ends.  I'd love to have a 63 CDV.

A 12 V (late '50s) black convertible with that to die for red lip stick leather.   Prefer '58.   I saw a custom '57 at the car show last year and still have withdrawal symptoms...
I guy I knew had a late 40s burgundy Buick with that plush leather in a tobacco rag top and it was killer but the black and red is where it's at.   Make a terrorist stop shooting and look!  Plus I grew up driving '60's ragtops...(non Cad)   Now I'm in ragtop country and don't have one.

I have a 1976 Eldorado convertible, a 1991 and 1993 Allante, and a 2004 XLR. So at this point, I'd go for a 1968 DeVille convertible. I had one of those 25 years ago, and had to part with it a dozen years ago to pay some bills.

The one I don't have?  Not sure I can answer that. Given the time/space/money, I'd add several Fleetwoods;  '58, '61 or '62, '70, and maybe a '74 Talisman.  And a '59 Seville to keep my '60 company.

My first car…61 Coupe Deville.  Love those quad fins, but I want this one to have all the goodies that I added to mine, Guide-Matic, cruise control, remote trunk release….

The Iconic 59 does it for me! 8) But I love the early 50's Cads that are more "Bomberish" and beefy with the Dagmar front ends like the 53-56 Caddies. All that chrome goodness is just awesome.

Maybe a 65 Fleetwood for the the added luxury touches during that year like rear folding down trays, rear footrest and more rear seat legroom due to the longer wheelbase, including a more luxurious interior, especially the seats.

But I am already truly perfectly happy with my 64 Deville. ;D
