Rear fenders and - or other areas. Yes or no? I see restored cars both ways. I have two "original" cars that do not have it. The authenticity manual does not address this question.

Rod, beaded welting was used for many years, including 48 and 49. Right up to 1953, the last year for it. The bead is mostly always black. I'm sure others will chime in, but your cars should have it. When I first got my car, the bead on the rear fenders was gone. The rest of the welting was still visible between the fenders and body. It looked like a previous owner removed the bead part and then had the car repainted. The bead was probably weathered and looked bad and was quicker to remove it and throw paint on it. When I had the car repainted the correct way, the welting was replaced. See Pics.

Nice car!  I am with you. I have included it in cars I have restored. I got on the internet and looked at way toooo many pictures. Including "100-pont restorations"  -- kind of began to doubt myself.
