When I try to sign on to the National website I get the big white message window in the middle of the screen as usual.  However, when I click outside of the white box I get no response.
Is this a problem with my computer or is there a problem with the website?

I think there is a red cicle with an X through it just above and to the right of the white box, click hay and it should work. If we are talking about the same screen that is.

I went to the website this morning, the white box in the middle was gone & I was able to move around the website as normal.  Thanks,

It has to do with cookies. If you delete your cookies it will be back again, quite annoying. I have a utility program that clears tracking cookies etc. and I have to deal with the white box almost every time I open this site. This annoyance for me showed up several months back.
