Does anyone know how to remove the thermometer from the driver-side mirror? I bought a mirror with temp gauge that works but the little plastic dome has came off and I wanted to take an old one I have and use the two pieces and make one good one.
Any ideas on this?

It should just tap out from the back side. It's a friction fit.  I'd use a little clear silicone when pushing it back in.

It should have a fiber optic pressed into it to illuminate it at night-be careful when removing that it doesn't become torn.

Do be very very careful if you tap from behind, the metal probe can fracture from the inner housing..
