I'm just about finished with my restoration. I need someone with pic of that model, when my hood is closed it seams there is to much space where the back of the hood meets with the cowl the door on both sides. If anyone has please E Mail me ASAP apokato@aol.com. or if possible call me I have some questions. 917-807-1380

The hood needs to be mover back on its hinge, That's where the adjustment is.    It pays to remove the springs first as they will automatically pull the hood down when you loosen the bolts.

A cautionary note. Make sure when you are finishing up that the hood pads are installed on the sides of the top of the fenders, also the cowl rubber. If you close the hood without these items, it will slip back on the cowl and make it nearly impossible to open without scarring your new paint. (You have to insert a screwdriver in the space behind the hood to force it back forward.)

Worst front end I've ever had to install and align. Probably have 12 hours into moving around the fenders, hood and core support. Still not perfect but no has said any thing. I second removing the springs and adding all the bumpers.

I agree, 41 hoods are a BIG PITA. I went thru it on my cpe. A 4 man job. one guy holding the front, 1 guy on either side & one guy running the ratchet.
Do you have a shop manual?? Look on pages 67&68 for instructions. All this work should have been done before painting. The hood gets done first & the fenders are aligned to it.
