Will a 59-60 parade boot fit on a 63 Cadillac? Since it's made out of fiberglass can it be modified to do so?

Anthony,

I can't see this part being a fit for a 63.

The 59/60 parade boots are reproduced by a guy in Central NJ.  His name is also Anthony.  His ebay user name is Magnumdiesel.  The real ones are way too expensive to cut up and modify.

I think you would have to do a lot of modification to get one to fit a 63.  You need to take a lot of measurements.  I have one on a 60 convertible, the car you saw at Lake George.

My cars are all put away for winter and it's way too cold to lower the top but if you are interested in doing this you will need to start off with some measurements of the 60 to compare.

Maybe someone reading this that has a car witting with the top down can help you with some basic measurements.

Good luck,

Brian

I have made quite a few parade boots over the years for 57 58  and 59 60. I took molds off originals. Yes you could do it from a repop 59 60 unit but might need quite a bit of cutting and shutting and a proficiency in fibreglass. Google the 61 Eldorado Lemans prototype that Nads found a year or two ago. It had a parade boot of which no production cars got. Similar to the 59 60 but different tho.
I just spent a few days last week widening the fibreglass fenders on a 55 F100. I cut them up then used tech screws and polyethelene sheet (that the glass would not adhere to) to make the infill mold just by tech screwing them back together then lay in chop strand. Hard to explain but worked great.
