mending 1946 grill bars

Does anyone know what material the horizontal grill bars are made of on a 46. Can they be welded? I have some broken ends I need to repair. If it can be welded, by what type of welding? Thank You

They are made from "wonderful" pot metal. They can be welded. Those bars are 46 only & very rare in unbroken condition. I would strongly suggest you send them a place called the Finishing Touch.
Prepare to PAY THE PRICE.  Other places, read that as cheaper, will say they can do it but once they are ruined it's all over. And... I'd build a wooden crate for shipping.
