I have the interior of the car ready to install. The vertical steel piece on the back of the front seats have an indentation at the top that appears to have had some sort of strap.  It          seems to be missing something.  Got any ideas?  A pick would be great.  See mine.

Yes, it is supposed to receive a padded bar the spans the rear of each seatback.

I regret I have no pictures of that area of the '59 Series 62 Coupe I owned until recently but the same pads are on the Coupe deVille model as well.

EDIT: Here's a pic from a '59 CdV I had to give you some idea.

Jon,
Here is a pic of the rear of the driver's seat back of a coupe.
Note the padded bolster.
Also know that the upholstery on the back of the Coupe seats, may differs from other body styles.
I've also attached some detailed pics of how the bolster looks and attaches.
The head of the ringed nail of sorts goes in the slot at each end of each bolster, while the nail point and shaft goes into the holes in the bracket, which have teeth to hold the nail in place
Hope they help.
Have fun,
Steve B.
