Is there any source for a 1939 fuel tank and oil filter for the V8  engine? were all GM tanks for that era standard in size with different connecting arrays?
I have a fuel leak somewhere and my mechanic opines that it is the gas tank noting a slow drip from the tank.

Are there any options for an oil filter?

Thanks

I sent my original tank to some shop in Maryland to get coated inside and out .  NAPA sells fuel hose in diameter needed to connect the filler tube to the tank.

I have used a replica of the 37 factory filter which uses a regular spin-on canister.  In my opinion they are much better than the old dealer supplied paper cartridge filters that mount off of the engine head bolts.  Much less mess and they don't interfere with the head bolts or the real estate above the heads.  You might consider making something like that for your car.

Steve,
I don' think that anyone reproduces that tank yet. Might want to check some of these places out, depending on where you live. Could also check Hemmings under "Services Offered".  Hope this Helps.
