Guys:

I'll be working on my car here in the next few weeks and one of the items I'm replacing is the fuel pump.  The previous owner for my car installed an electric one which can be noisy at times so I'm pulling it out of my car.  I have a source for a brand new fuel pump which is correct for the 57 but I was curious where I could get the push rod that allows the mechanical pump to function.  My car should have the original as the original pump is still there but I want to get one just in case its missing.  If you have a website or source were I can find the fuel pump push rod please let me know.

Hopefully, it wasn't removed.  Make sure before you go hunting one down.  If it is still there, I'd imagine it was at least partially responsible for the noise.

Good find with the original slant - top pump.  If it is original, swap out the old rubber.

Did you find a slant top AC fuel pump?  If so, would you please send me a PM with your source.  Thanks!

Sure the sources I have are these two.  One is cheaper than the other but they both look good and they supposedly come with warrantees:

Here is a link for the slant style you mentioned:

The noise I heard is from the electrical pump which is located near the gas tank in the rear.  It makes a low humming noise sometimes which can get auditable to the point of annoyance.  I want this car to be 100% OEM anyways so getting rid of the electric pump is a priority.

Just in case that part isn't inside where its supposed to be do you guys know where to find a new one/NOS one?

Top two look like Airtex after market pumps - bottom one looks correct, but very expensive.  Also, I recall an AC logo on the side as well as the top.

Yes the AC logo is on the top.  These I believe are close enough and I plan to rebuild the one that's on my car currently since its the correct type.  Here is a link for a kit that you can use to rebuild your original:

As I understand, Tim is looking  for the fuel pump push rod as he has the pump.
Perusing the internet, I found this:

Caddy Daddy seems to indicate the fuel pump push rod is the same from 49 through the '60s.  However, my Master Parts List shows the 49-53 rod as being different from the 54 and later rod but without saying what the difference is.

Well I'd like to know before I purchase one.  I might be swinging down to my storage unit to fire my Cadillac up this weekend if it doesn't snow.  I can at least take the fuel pump off then and see if that rod even exists to begin with
