Hi all,

I have been building a car for a good friend and neighbor for several years.  He has misplaced the clips that hold the wood garnish around the windows of the doors of his 1937 Cadillac 7019 4 Door Sedan.  I am hoping someone can show me a picture, or tell me what they look like.. Better yet, if you know of some place I can buy them please let me know.  I didn't take them out so I haven't an idea as to what they look like.  The garnish has no holes for screws and I am not going to drill any.
I had these refinished and they are drop-dead gorgeous.  I can see small holes in the top-inner edge of the garnish where the clips once were.  They apparently have some sort of alligator teeth that hold the garnish in the door frame  Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Ed
Ed

Hi Steve,

We quit working on it for about three years.  The owner got in a financial bind and needed to work to get the IRS off his back.  I am working on it for free and if the owner wants to claim that he worked on it I aim to make sure he does.  When he is available, we work.  We recently started working on it again.  Trying to get the doors to the upholstery shop to make door panels but need to know what holds the wooden garnish moldings in the doors. They are not held in with screws.  Got the power windows and locks installed and need to get the door panels made
The owner took the clips off the garnish and we can't find them anywhere... looked for several days.  Very frustrating.  My health is going and I don't want to spend what time I have left working it by myself.
What have you been up to?

On the model do you mean 6019 or 7519.  Assuming 7519 there are two (?) posts screwed on to the top of the door to secure the bottom and screws are used on the sides and top.  On the drivers door there is also one screw near the division bar.  Not sure if there is a metal plate to accept the post or if it just goes in the wood.  Picture of post attached.

Can't help with the moldings Ed as I sold my 1937 85 series limo and I didn't ever take the garnish moldings off. All the smaller models use metal moldings.
