I have a ´64 Drive Shaft / Propeller Shaft on my ´62 (with a ´64 "Jetaway"-Hydramatic). It was not installed by me but back in the late 70s before a lengthy hiatus. I am not sure if the drive shaft has factory u-joints. They still look good but the shim which is intended to prevent the bolts from loosening is worn beyond usability. Where can the shims be obtained?

Nils,
Hi. It's a locking strap , not a shim.  You probably have a few choices…..
A. Fabricate a new ones out of 18 ga. sheet metal, if you need to be 100% original and someone will be looking under your car.
B. Use nuts along with lock washers.
C. Use locking nuts ( not the Nyloc ones), the kind that are usually used on exhaust and have a slight oval shape to them.

These were on my 60 Seville when I removed the driveshaft.  When they were newer you could bend them down to remove the nuts and bend them back up.  As mentioned, these are not shims and they do not alter the fit of anything.  They are just there to keep the nuts from backing off.

Mine snapped off when I bent them down to remove the nuts.

I am planning to use lock washers and a dab of Blue Loctite when I put the shaft back in.

I have seen these on ebay as part of a U joint repair kit that was listed.
