2016 marks the Bicentennial of Indiana statehood. “Kokomo Salutes Indiana’s Automotive Heritage 1894-1964” is a weeklong celebration running September 5-11, 2016 that will honor the Hoosier State’s many contributions to the automotive industry. The festivities begin on Monday the 5th with a pair of four-day driving tours and end with a series of exciting car shows in Kokomo’s beautiful parks. The Hoosier Heritage Bicentennial Driving Tour is actually two tours comprised of fifty pre-1977 cars each. On Saturday the 10th, four separate displays of magnificent machinery will include: the Haynes-Apperson Reunion; the Classic Car Club of America’s Indiana Grand Classic; the Marmon Club’s Mighty Marmon Muster; and the Stutz Club’s Grand Stutz. Festivities conclude on Sunday the 11th  with the Grand Indiana Bicentennial Motor Muster, showcasing Indiana-built cars, CCCA Full Classics, and special interest cars through 1976.

I am looking for some great Cadillacs for the event to take part in both the driving tour and the motor muster.  Full Classics can take part in the CCCA Grand Classic and really outnumber the Packards!  The 1941 Cadillac will be a featured model at the muster.  I'm also looking for "iconic" Cadillacs, like a 1915 V-8, a 1927 LaSalle, a 1930 V-16, a 1938 Series 60 Special, a 1949 Coupe deVille, a 1953 Eldorado, a 1957-60 Eldo Brougham, any 1959, a 1967-70 Eldorado, and a 1976 Bicentennial Eldorado.  Of course, all Vertical Headlamp Caddies are welcome! Your car doesn't have to be concours ready.

Mark your calendars now to be in Kokomo, Indiana September 5-11, 2016.  For more information and to register, go to kokomoautomotivemuseum.com or contact Jeff Shively at 765-454-9999 or jeffreyshively1965email addresses not permitted.
