1941 Electrical problem

All my gauges peg, temperature peg's at hot (New correct temp sending unit, test good) car is NOT over heating..  battery gauge to the left discharge, gas gauge pegs full (only  5 gallons in there) and yes new correct gas tank sending unit, tested good, and yes the car is positive ground, and is grounded correctly, I am just stumped on this one, any suggestions would be GREATLY accepted

Hi. If it were just the Ammeter, I would have to say that by switching the leads you'd now be reading flow in the correct direction. Since it's affecting your Ammeter AND Gauges, which are also basically fed in from the "Bat" Terminal on your Voltage Regulator (gauges thru the ignition switch), I would be looking at either a fault in the Generator, and/or Regulator. Disconnect the 3 wires from your regulator terminals first to isolate those out of the loop and see what happens when you turn the key to the "on" position. Sounds like feedback (fault) from either component causing your circuit to "Ground" out. Keep us posted.

Did this just suddenly happen one day, or did it occur after something on the car was worked on, repaired or replaced?
