Hallo,
I ibought a Cadillac Coupe de Ville 1958 :

STYLE 58-62370X
BODY : 2843
TRIM : 40B A2
PAINT : 16

Could you tell me please, where can I find more informations about the vehicle? Where it was purchased, when, what was the original paint and trim?

Thank you.

That should be STYLE 58-6237DX

Body is just a sequential number.  2843 means it was probably built very early in the model year--so fall 1957 I would guess.

Paint 16 = Prestwick Gray Metallic
Trim 40 = Silver/Black Calcutta Cloth & White Leather  (Guessing the B means you got black rather than silver for the cloth portion of the seat.

I think the A means Basic Group A, which includes White Sidewall Tires, Heater, Radio, and E-Z Eye Glass.  I think the 2 after the A means Equipment Group 2, which is Fog Lamps, Dor-Gards, and License Frame.

Congrats on the purchase!  I highly recommend joining the 1958 Cadillac Owners Association.  I have been a member since 1999 and have a Sedan de Ville.

Congrats on having great taste! Best of luck with the ownership. I am learning as I go that the 58 can be tricky with a one-year only body but looks great. Lemme know if you need any of my limited knowledge.

Very nice example.   Hope the interior is as nice as the exterior.
Must have been restored at some point unless it's real low mileage.
I just like this year Cad.   I own a coupe.

Chris, I am sorry to take exception to your comment relative to the 1958 Cadillac being a "one year only" body.
The same body shell was used in 1957 and 1958. That is why, way back in the 1980s, when I was making out the judging classes, 1957 and 1958 are judged together.

As are 1954/1955/1956, and 1959/1960. Etc, etc, etc.

When I was making out classes, from 1930 or so it was easy to group the cars by using body shells as a way to connect them. in case anyone ever wondered why their car is judged with "whatever" years...

No exception at all Barry. My car will not likely ever be formally judged but thankfully there are more out there that will. Thank you for your devotion to the hobby.
