I have a set of lifters and I am trying to find their application. HL-15 and/or 5231740.
This also brings up a point. What is a good source for part #'s. There are parts manuals for the plane for example, but I have not been able to find one for the 70 Deville or 472.
Thanks,
Jeff

There's a few ways to run GM part numbers, but anything before they had computers is tougher.   If you know someone at a dealer parts counter it helps.
GMpartsonline, if it's not there, it's probably pre '84-7.   Then you need to go to the books.   There's some others that cross reference.  Some people have posted some cross reference info on some of the car sites.   You can spend alot of time and may not get an answer on line.
A simple google search of    "GM #5231740" found the answer.  Try it.

Ok, thanks. I did did a Google search and found hits on ebay, etc but I don't trust their research. I was just hoping for an 'official' source.
Thanks
