71 Eldo: Grease tie rod ends?

Shop manual says this never needs to be done, but they probably weren't envisioning over 40 years of use.  Should I be adding grease?

If it has a grease fitting I would, just don't blow the rubber seal.

It has threaded plugs which could easily be replaced by fittings.

My '72 has grease nipples in the tie rod ends, so someone must have put them there if they were plugged when new.

But checking the Shop Manual for '72, there is no mention whatsoever of any grease points that require periodic greasing.

PS.   Yes, I grease mine.

The manual also says it is a "special" grease....no idea what kind that is or if there are any compatibility issues with regular chassis grease.
