I would like to put a set of  repro 57 caps on my 58 ( I know blasphemy  >:D )  will they fit on the rims or is there a difference ?  I know i see them on everything out there, but I don't know if I have ever even seen a picture of them on a 58.

They will fit, but I would not recommend them

I agree with Jon. Remember that 59 caps are the same as 58 caps except for the emblem. Keep it correct. The 50s cars just look wrong when you mix and match.
Now I wouldn't complain if you were to find a set of sabres.

You guys are all hitting on 8 cylinders. I hate, despise, and abdomdibate (quote from Scarlett O'Hara) 1950s cars with newer wheels and or covers. Like a nicely done '55 Chevrolet with aluminum cast wheels. Shudder, shudder. Keep it stock.

Barry Amen to your comment on changing wheels on '50s cars. Why paint a moustache on the Mona Lisa??? Clay/Lexi

I must have bumped my head when my car was up on the lift as I was toying with putting 57 hubcaps with the white 60 Eldo centers on my 1960 series 62 conv. Actually thought  that would look good can you imagine? Been paranoid to run it with the regular 60 Eldo caps for fear of them flying off or being stolen as they are so darn expensive. The ones I have are the McVey ones from many years ago. The stock regular 60 hub caps are so plain and ugly. I currently have the reproduction wire wheels on both my cars and they are impossible to balance as well as a steel rim. Whew, that was a close one!!

So the fella that put the '69 caps on the '72 Eldo before I purchased it should have been hung, drawn and quartered?

Actually, I liked them better than the '72 caps, but I like my Aluminium wheels I have on it now even better.

Update,  A guy I work with has the 57 repro caps on his 51 chevy with the bullet centers and they make his car.    He brought two in for me to try on my car,  as much as I hate to admit it I didn't like them on the 58, I have no explanation why,  I guess it just goes to the "it just doesn't look right". And to think I thought you guys were just being stodgy...        ;D
