Temp. Gauge Reading

I just took my 1937, 60 series for a ride and the gauge needle stayed  about straight  in the center. I checked the top tank temperature with an infrared gun and it read about 175. I was wondering if this is about right for the center position on the gauge. By the way it is 97 here in Atlanta so I think the cooling system is working well. Steve

If your flathead is running at 175 on a 97  degree day count your blessings
