Hello, I'm new to the forum and have a question on an early Seville. Thank you for any help you can offer.

Ok, I looked at a Cadillac yesterday that is for sale and am having trouble making heads or tails of it. The trim tag states it is a 1954 Coupe Deville. The car has a 1955 grill and Eldorado rear quarters(55-56).  Eldorado badges on the trunk, fenders and dash.  Chrome trim from the A to B pillar on top of the door and five Sabre wheels with caps.  I can explain most of this away as someone having fun, but the tail lights....the four tail lights are dated 54.

I'm sure there is a logical explanation for the tail lights and I'm missing it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yep, that's the car and I walked away thinking someone had created their own "Franken-caddy". I just can't explain the dates on the tail lights.

Look at this article:

If Cadillac did not built the car you looked at, which car could have provided the lenses dated 1954?
Buick?
Did you see the manufacturer?

I sort of think the tailights might have been from Buick
