Allante compartment cover

yet another question!

When i lift the rear compartment cover to put top in down position, i have to hold it up with one hand, i don't see any springs or adjustments on it to hold it upright while i lower the cloth top in the compartment

The cover should be held up by gas filled pistons, similar to those used on most car hoods.  Replacement pistons are readily available.  Changing them out is best accomplished with a 2-person crew.
