I got a fully rebuilt wiper motor for my '59 as my wipers weren't working.  The best rebuild you can get on them, Chicago Corvette here locally did it.  I installed the motor and still have no wipers.  I tried a different switch, same thing.  No noise, no response from motor  When I first hooked it up & tested it I could have sworn I saw the arms move a little, nothing now   Any suggestions?   Thanks!

Hi Garrett, I have rebuilt some of these recently using NOS parts they are quite simple once you understand how they work . I would start with a decent ground use a jumper cable attach it to the wiper body then to the hood hinge if it still doesn't work providing you don't have an electrical problem like a poor ground on the switch , I would say the problem would be open breaker points in the bottom of the case brush assembly ,these could be open or not clean . I would check these wipe a piece of clean white paper between them to clean , to close use a small flat screw driver & push downwards on the centre where the 2 tabs meet. I have attached a pic of a NOS case brush assembly so you can see what I mean note the clip they use to hold back the brushes. I hope this helps.

Hello Garrett,

Did Chicago Corvette bench test the wiper and give you notice that it worked properly?  If so, the problem is in your wiring and or switch.  Have you checked the fuse?  If you tried a second switch, do you know that the switch is good?

If Chicago Corvette cannot affirm that they bench tested the wiper motor assembly successfully, you may want to take it back to them and have them do so.  Is the wiper transmission/linkage connected correctly?

Respectfully submitted,

The motor is fairly fool proof if rebuilt . I suggest the most common fault I've found is a poorly earthed switch. You may have taken the severed out of the switch. Put them back in.
