My car stalls sometimes, because fuel delivery problem. I think fuel pump is OK, so is the carburetor.  When engine stops, I am disconnecting fuel line from fuel pump and using air compressor to blow some compressed air into a fuel tank and that solves problem for a while. I suspect that fuel tank may be dirty and rusted debris are  clogging fuel line inside the tank.

My car's fuel gauge doesn't work, possibly because it is converted to 12V system.

1. Are there replacement tanks, maybe plastic ones, for this car?
2. Can I install new fuel pump inside the tank and bypass mechanical pump I have now?
3. How difficult would be to fix fuel gauge, maybe replacing the whole thing and installing new fuel gauge?
4. Is that job simply enough that even I could do it?
