I am looking at a 1980 Eldo with no vinyl top. I have not seen one and was wondering if this was common? It looks good but if it was never offered I dont want to buy it. Thanks for any advice

Cabriolet (1/4) roof was standard on the Biarritz only; optional on base model. Slick roof was actually fairly common among Eldorados of this generation (1979 - 1985). Google images and you'll see many.

Cadillac itself evidently felt the new Eldorado looked good without vinyl covering enough to showcase it in the 1979 catalog.
