It's leaking around the eye...anyone have success repairing or do i just get a new hose and bypass it?

The hose is not leaking but showing some age cracks upon close inspection.

If the leak is actually on the glass/brass interface or a miniscule crack in the glass the answer is no.  These site glasses are still available at most refrigeration wholesalers, so a replacement should be no big deal.

They're for sale all over eBay. Original or replacement. Good luck!

Well...i was able to disassemble it. I cleaned the glasss tube as it was cloudy and amber. It had unique end seals to which i did not disturb. I added 'o'  rings to each end and reassembled. Seems like a snugger fit. evacuating it as we speak.  :o
