From 1950 through 1953, the list of interior trim codes includes unique codes for export model SEDANS. The upholstery for these models is invariably all leather, and usually two-tone (2-tone gray or 2-tone brown, and later 2-tone green or 2-tone blue). Typically trim codes are listed for Series 62 sedan and for Series 60S. In 1950 through 1952, all-leather upholstery is not listed  as available for U.S. sedans. In 1953, all-leather was available on the 60S, but it has different trim codes from those on export models. Of course convertible models had all-leather upholstery,

The data books list the specific codes for the various upholsteries, and the codes for the export models are unique to them. Another excellent source for this information is the following page:
http://www.rrrclc.org/the-cadillac-color-upholstery-accessory-database-1940-1979/
This is a great resource from the Raritan Chapter.

Does anyone have further information about leather interiors for any 1950-53 Export model sedans?:
1. Has anyone ever seen one of these export model sedans with all-leather upholstery?
2. Can anyone supply a link to a photo of one of these interiors (e.g., 1952 dark gray leather/light-gray leather on a Series 62 Export sedan)?
3. Was the leather trim option for sedans used on the export models ever special-ordered on U.S. models?

Back in the 60s there were many leather trimmed American cars of all makes here in this country. They were our preferred method of transport as street wise kids back then, Cheap to buy as clunkers although, how we ever afforded to fill them with gas I don't know.
Leather was the most common used interior material until plastic came along. It would have been very unusual to see cloth in any car US or English. Can't say I ever saw one with cloth.
My understanding is that most exports to commonwealth country's used Leather because of the dust aspect, ie. South Africa, Australia etc. Dust in cloth is not good.  This was certainly the case with other manufactures.  Guess they had to fit in with what was the norm in each market.
We have many old cars being imported here from the Colonies and they are all either plastic or leather interiors.
Sorry John. No pictures of Cadillac interiors.

My car was imported when new by General Motors France and first titled in France in 1952. How can I know if it is an export model ?

The upholstery on my car is grey cloth with a few leather inserts, and matches trim code #61 on body plate.
Maybe leather was available, though not compulsory, on export cars.
