I am attempting to replace my chrome fuel door tailfin on my '41 limo with a nicer one but cannot figure out how to remove the metal plate that attaches to the chrome tailfin.  Can anyone help with the procedure to remove these pieces apart.  Thanks,  Frank

Thes pieces don't remove unless you want to go the route of de-riveting them. Why would you want to anyway? Has someone taken them off the replacement fin?

Hi Steve,

I purchased a set of rechromed tailfins at a very good price, comsidering how much it would cost to rechrome and the fuel door tailfin came without the bracket on it.

Guess you would have to try and drill them out then and re-rivet them. There is no set way of doing it as its a factory fitting.

Drilled them out this weekend and was able to use the bracket on the new one. Thanks Steve for your feedback.
