I was just doing some detail work on my recently acquired 1970 Eldorado, and noticed that the "A" on the driver side is loose.
Not clear to me how to access the back of the "A".
Some of the letters can be seen from the door jam, some from the engine bay. Those in the middle...? Anybody know?
Thanks, Joe

I don't know how yours are attached, but often, there is a hole drilled in the body, a "keeper" (for lack of better words) is then pushed into the hole, then the letter is pushed into the keeper.

It is possible the keeper is missing or loose.  Can you pull the letter out?  Pull at your own risk....

How are the visible letters attached?  With a nut?

Keep in mind I have no idea how they are attached, but that is how I think they are attached.

Maybe someone else will chime in.
