So I went to bleed the brakes on the '41 and was disappointed to discover the wheel cylinder bleeder valves are really just screw-in plugs.  My '53 has valves that can accommodate a clear hose so I can see what the fluid looks like and also keep fluid from spilling on everything.  See picture ('53 valve on left, '41 on right).
QUESTION:  Can I substitute the later style bleeder valves for the old plugs on my '41?  Overall length and threads appear to be the same.

Yes, they will fit right in there.  Some manufacturers used these plugs. I change them every time.
