HI and thanks for the add!

I am looking for general opinions and value opinions on this car going at BJ this weekend. I may also be looking to hire someone to do an in person paid inspection for a client of mine. Any help would be really appreciated!

Thanks,

John

I'm only viewing of my ph, but straight Oct it appears to have a 55 56 batwing. 57 pods are offset.

Whitewall are way too wide.  First look on the phone didn't look like it had sabers but it does.

Typical incorrect 24k gold replacement trim.  No fog lights that were standard on Eldorado or at least the lenses are incorrect.

All cadillacs had 4 speed transmissions...

Thanks so much for the response!! Can you elaborate on what that is and how big a deal it is? I collect predominantly American Muscle from 69-74!
Again, thank you for taking the time!

Thanks Walter! At least wheels are an easy fix....

any idea on value? He's new to the hobby and while he will drive it a bit, I am trying to keep him a purist, if not just for value sake.
What about the pods batwing comment?

In addition to the comments above the following items are not authentic, but minor:

1. The exhaust ports do not protrude from the bumper in this way. The port should have a bullet in the center like the backup lens. The exhaust pipe attaches to the inside of the bumper and is not visible.
2. The "V" on the trunk may not be the unique Eldorado piece. It may be the standard trunk emblem bent a bit to fit the trunk's contour. There should be an exact fit been the "V" and deck lid. McVey had a beautiful, but expensive reproduction.
3. There's no picture of the fuel pump but the black rubber line crossing above the oil filler suggests an inline rather than glass bowl filter.
4. The bat wing is correct (short 1" rise above the carb) but the orange labels on the oil baths are in the wrong location. They should be on the top horizontal surface of those pots.  I also believe the circular nuts attaching the pots to the bat wing are 55-56. The correct ones are four point star.
5.The hose clamps should be wire spring, not aviation type.
6. I don't recall the green label on the PS pulley, but could be wrong
7. There's a red oval label missing on the top of the generator.
8. The interior (big ticket item) looks to be the correct grain leather and well done.

Those circular nuts look for all the world like Drawer Pull knobs.

Bruce,

You're correct. They're from the drawer you have to empty to buy the bat wing...

Yes I agree with the overall consensus that it appears that is from outward appearance a nice car with a few minor niggles.
I still maintain that the air cleaner pods are incorrect. 57 only pods are offset and don't screw through the centre do 55 56 style. I can't determine if the batwing is correct or if has  cutdown snorkles to sit lower as per 57.
Once again, not major but still would require correction to make me happier. . . . Or more happy than I already am.
Still my favourite Cadillac model of all. Wish I had one.  ;D

Quentin - I think that you are right.  The shape of the top of the oil bath elements is different than on my 57.  What were they thinking when they put on the oil bath decals?

Looks like the car sold for $99k plus the 10% buyers premium.
