Driving my 76 Eldo yesterday I was hearing a slight tick coming through the radio as static caused by one cylinder which is probably firing erratically.  Car is running ok but I can feel a slight miss under load.

So...

Are the factory grey wires available anywhere, and my local guy tells me that the AC R45NSX is not available but there are some crossover numbers.

What are you guys using on your 76's for plugs?

I can get a set of Delco Professional wires in black which I can live with but would like to get the correct grey if possible.

Currently the car has a set of (uchhh) Motorcraft grey wires on it.

Thanks,

Brian

Hi Brian,

As to the plugs, AC Delco recommends for your car AC4 single platinium plug, they no longer recommend regular such as R45nsx (or no longer produce such equipment as it is for my 70 Eldorado for which R46N ref. is over butR44xls still available).
USA parts propose R45xls6 for 1975-1976.

I did a little research on Rockauto.com and found the correct AC Delco plugs (updated number is R45XLS6 and the wires are ACDELCO 9188T Professional so I ordered two sets of each, one for the 76 Eldo and one for my 80 to have when I need them.

Thanks,

Brian
