Could someone please answer another question? My gauges aren't working on the 1950 Cadillac. I think it is a ground, or the fuse. I can't find the fuses. Are they behind the driver's kick panel? Thank you.

I would suggest you buy a owners manual & a shop manual. They will help you with working on your car.

Too much fun is more than you can have.

The gauges are not fused so I would suggest you look for a bad ground since you say none of the gauges are working.  Do your lights in the speedometer cluster work?

Yes, I must buy an owner's manual, and, a shop manual. I will. No, the lights in the speedometer cluster do not come on. Not even when the headlight switch is turned.

The dash light rheostat in the headlight switch goes bad. Corrosion usually.

Maybe a 1951 wiring diagram would help you in your dilemma in the interim, I would guess the 1950-1951 would be the same ???

Just in case here is the one for 1951.

I would suggest as others have to temporary connect a wire from the instrument cluster over to a good ground source to verify. The dash lights and gauges do pick the ground path at the cluster.

Good luck..!
