I removed the six 1/4" nuts from the face of the water pump but am having difficulty separating the face casting from the body of the water pump.  Does anyone know if there is something else holding it in place other than a stuck gasket?  Also - has anyone tried using a rotary shaft lip seal in place of the graphite packing material?
