Does anyone know where I could send my 58 Fleetwood electric trunk pull down motor rebuilt? I need the whole thing restored.
Thank you in advance!

Is it working at all?  Old dried up grease, poor wiring solder joints or a bad micro switch are the usual suspects.  A good cleaning and relube after disassembly is probably all it needs.

On my '57, the wire insulation was so stiff that I had to replace all the wires.  As the motor would move, it would stress the solder joints and break connection.

There is a guy on E-bay who had a rebuilding service too.

There are such places.   Internet search "automotive electric motor restoration" and find someone near to you/contact.  Or look int he trade publications parts sections.   I haven't used any of these, so can't recommend, I prefer to do myself, if I can find parts.   Sometimes things just have to be replaced, but finding NOS, if available, doesn't guarantee they'll be without faults.
Usually, a set of brushes and some wiring and insulation repair, clean and paint will fix most anything.  The armature can be rewound if faulty but needs a specialist shop.
My experience with getting "junkyard" electrical parts in working condition hasn't been good.   They're the same vintage so will have the same issues generally.  No telling how long it sat since it was tested good.
Some of the cad parts places also exchange refurbish used parts, so they're another source but often pricey.

Thanks you guys for the help. I will give it a shot and try to rebuild it. Worst case I will send it out to have it done.

Call Jay ( Eldorado Jay ) @ 443-402-1125 . EBay item # 162078554826 . He will rebuild individual motors . He did two for my 57 Eldo's . Great job . ..... Another possibility is EBay item #222369642008. Advertises as a rebuild service . I have no personal knowledge of his work . Good luck . Paul Tesone CLC #6876 .

I have to say, Jay knows these units very well and is probably the best out there. He's had a number of fine Eldorado's over the years and pays close attention to details.
