OK Im 34 and worked in a restoration company for 17 years I learned the best way to learn is to ask questions. So with that said I'm new to caddys I mostly did ncrs corvettes but right after super storm sandy I was driving my tow truck and had the option to buy a 41 that took a sandy hit, the guy gave me paper work I'm the 3rd or 4th owner the guy before me put out a few grand into driving and using conditions. So I know it's rare cause it's original paint is two tone green which is under a crappy black maaco paint job. It's great I don't think they even scuffed the paint to apply it. So two tone green it's a 41 and first year of automatic tranny, plus it's a fast back. So I found some original papers and bills in glove box. So I need a fav, you guys are key to my knowledge, what is it or how do I tell is it a series 61? Which is my guess or 62 Fleetwood 63 75? I know there's rotten in door jam but it's all here except rims and rock guard's on rear fenders. I have 2 original hubcaps. The orginal motor and tranny is there rad with vent louvers. The add on was a inverter for 12volts and a radio with antenna hidden into firewall under hood. They didn't want to ruin the body and yes the car is 6 volts. Please help me with some info on what I have and a value I know I need a wire harness under hood. Thanks guys - Jay

Jay,
Welcome....Nice Ride Man! 1941 Series 6109 Fastback Sedan. Check out the car's serial number stamped on the frame. Also check out the engine numbers to see if they match. You came to the right place for help ;D. Use the search button regarding old posts for some great info. Good Luck!

This is a quote from the 41 Authenticity manual" The number is found in two locations on the car. It is stamped on the top of the left side of the frame just adjacent to the steering gear mounting and it is stamped on the engine block just behind the left hand cylinder bank". It might be hard to see on the frame but it is there. Suggest you use some sand paper in that area and it should be visible. Since a lot of 41s have had 46-48 engines installed you might not find the number on the engine in that area. The 46-48 engine had the engine serial number stamped just above the rear of the water pump on an extenstion of the block. The correct serial for title work would be the number stamped on the frame. I hope both numbers match on your car.

Hi Jay. As said by Bobby and quoted by Bill.  Only the 61 series had the fast back so no question there.
This model was Cadillacs cheapest and took the place of the LaSalle as the bottom end of their price offerings. Body styles were your sedan or a fast-back coupe and they made about 29,000 of them.
Mechanics are the same as other models so spares are no problem.

Jay, Welcome and congrats on the find. To add to advice given, there should be a data plate attached to the cowl just behind the driver side hood spring. This should have the paint and interior trim codes along with body number.       Harry

41-6109   41 is the year. 61, the series. 09, 4 door sedan.
Body number doesn't mean much.
trim code 33 is 'Green Ribbed cloth'
Paint code 64 is Berkshire green and Cimarron green.

You should look up Phil Maloof's collection.

Our chapter got a private viewing a couple of weeks ago.  About 2/3 of the 150 car collection are Cadillacs--and 34, iirc, are 1941 cadillacs . . .  a couple of 12 and 15 car garages with nothing but 1941 Caddies . . .

It was the first car he ever drove.
